Remote field service technicians: Fix It Today, Without the Travel

  • PLC, HMI, drive and configuration faults solved over a connection
  • Often fixed the same day
  • Access details visible only to the technician you assign
  • Flat 6% platform fee, no travel costs

Book remote industrial troubleshooting direct. No middlemen.

How it works

  1. Post the mission

    • Machine, software, fault and connection details
  2. Compare quotes

    • Specialists quote hourly or fixed price
    • Nobody travels, so more specialists can take it
  3. Connect and pay

    • Approve one and they join the session
    • They fix it or diagnose it

Will it work remotely?

If the fix needs hands, tools or parts, somebody has to travel. If it lives in software, configuration or diagnosis, it usually works remotely.

Usually yes

  • PLC and HMI logic, timers and alarms
  • Drive and servo parameters
  • Recipe and configuration problems
  • Program backups, restores, version comparison
  • Guiding your own staff through a procedure
  • Diagnosis ahead of a site visit

Needs somebody on site

  • Mechanical repair, alignment, replacement
  • Wiring faults and physical inspection
  • Measurement requiring instruments at the machine
  • Commissioning needing physical verification
  • Anywhere no remote access exists
Use an on-site mission instead

Try remote before you send anyone

A short remote session on an unknown fault ends one of three ways:

Solved outright

Configuration or software cause

No visit needed

Diagnosed, not fixed

Physical work confirmed necessary

A specific on-site brief, so quotes tighten

Ruled out

Suspected cause eliminated

Narrows where to look next

If it needs a visit after that, invite the same technician. They already know the machine.

Try it: post a mission

  • The FindFST AI Engine drafts the title and description from the photo and its note
  • It suggests the requirements, you accept each one

The FindFST AI Engine: a recruiter's work, done better

It does the matching a recruiter would, on every mission, across every verified industrial field service technician on the platform, with no CV pile, no phone calls and no agency margin.

  1. Reads your mission

    • Machine, brand, type, industry, skills, certifications
    • Your priorities: what matters most, where you can compromise
  2. Checks every verified technician

    • Each profile is compared with what the work needs
    • The best matches are scored 0 to 100
    • Only structured profile data reaches the ranking, never free text: a well-written bio does not move the score
  3. Shows its reasoning

    • Every score comes with reasons and gaps
    • Updates itself when the mission or a profile changes
    • The score is advice: you choose who to invite and book
  4. Keeps learning

    • Each completed mission is logged against its match: score, rating, on schedule or not
    • We measure and tune the engine against those outcomes

Giving remote access sensibly

Your IT and OT policies come first. No formal third-party access process? Start here:

  • Enable access for the session, disable it afterwards
  • Keep somebody from your side on the call while work happens
  • Take a verified program backup before anything changes
  • Scope access to the equipment, not the wider network
  • Agree what may change live and what needs a planned stop
  • Credentials never go in the public description: use the connection field, which only the assigned technician can see

How the technician applies: hourly or fixed price

  • Hourly: their rate times your estimated hours, best when the scope is uncertain
  • Fixed price: one fee for the whole mission, no daily timesheets
  • You see the total, fee included, before you approve
  • A technician can message you first to agree the dates

The demo plays it through: the technician messages you, applies on the agreed dates, you accept.

What it costs

6%

flat platform fee

  • 3% payment processing + 3% platform
  • Marking a mission urgent adds 4%
  • Nothing else is ever added
  • Charged on top of the technician's rate, so the technician keeps 100% of what they quote
  • Does not scale with headcount or mission length

Where the same £3,000 goes

£730 more reaches the technician than with a 30% agency, on the same mission.

ModelFee takenTechnician receives
FindFSTflat 6%£170£2,830
Agency25%£750£2,250
Agency30%£900£2,100
Agency50%£1,500£1,500

Illustrative figures, rounded.

  • The FindFST row is a £2,830 quote plus the £170 fee, paid on top
  • An agency's margin comes out of the same £3,000
  • Agency margins in industrial staffing are commonly 25% to 50%

How we keep it at 6%

The admin is automated, and there is no middleman to pay.

  • Payments automated through Stripe
  • Identity and fraud checks automated
  • Insurance and certificates checked once
  • No account-manager layer
  • No recruiter commissions
  • No branch network

What happens if there's a dispute?

Stripe holds the payment until the mission is complete, so a problem gets settled before money moves.

  1. Open it in Mission Control

    • Either side can open one once the mission is paid, during the work or just after it completes
    • The mission pauses while it is open
  2. Agree it between you

    • Message each other, upload evidence and propose compensation
    • An approved proposal settles automatically
  3. Escalate if you cannot agree

    • Either side can escalate: FindFST Support reviews the evidence and mediates
    • Refunds go back to the original payment method

How disputes and refunds work

The demo plays a company disputing an unfinished mission, and the technician answering with evidence and a proposal. Click anything to take over, reject the proposal or escalate.
