Engineer vs technician. People use them interchangeably. They're not the same thing.
I saw an engineer stripping wire with a pair of scissors once.
An engineer designs the system. A technician makes it work in the real world.
I've worked alongside engineers who couldn't read a wiring diagram under pressure. I've worked with technicians who could diagnose a fault faster than most people could find the manual.
The title matters less than the capability.
Job specs ask for a degree to do a job that needs hands and experience. You fault-find a servo drive with time served, not a qualification.
